On death and responsiblity

My husband just ran over a cat.

It wasn't on purpose. It was dark, and the cat ran out onto a busy street. He pulled over, refused to let me come see and asked a neighbor if he knew whose cat it was. The neighbor didn't.

I'm upset.

He brought me back home and is now going back to move the dead cat from the street.

Now I'm at home alone with my cat, and I'm telling her how lucky she is to be an indoor cat.

Please, keep your cats indoors!

And please spay and neuter.

Not Yesterday. Not Tomorrow. TODAY!

Today is St. Patrick's Day. Today. Not yesterday. Not tomorrow. Today.

Yesterday I got a lot of slack because I wasn't wearing green. "Today isn't St. Patrick's Day," I reminded them. "Tomorrow is."

It's not like we were having a special "wear green day" or anything. That is not the kind of office in which I work. It was March 16, so I wore pink. Today is March 17; I'm wearing green.

People were just so frickin' insane to try to make me feel guilty for not wearing green on the day before St. Patrick's Day.
