Control

I love Cesar Millan. His dog-training methods are so simple. It's all about being the one in control. The human is the leader of the pack, not the dog. Milan knows when owners won't follow through and the dog will never get better.

I'm mentioning this because I really wonder what the fascination is with pit bulls. A couple months back a neighbor came home with what looks to be a pit bull puppy. Another neighbor came home with a pit bull puppy just last week. It scares me a little.

The pit bull gets a bad rap. Pit bulls can be very good dogs. But they take a lot of work. The human must be in charge at all times. They are very strong dogs and the owner has to be able to handle a strong dog. Most people who own pit bulls shouldn't own pit bulls. They aren't willing to follow through with obedience training or they just don't have the muscle to control such a muscular animal.

So I don't blame the dog, I blame the humans. It doesn't matter what type of dog it is, I always blame the humans. The humans are also the reason why the puggles next door never stop barking!

I just hope and pray that these two neighbors are able to control their animals. We live on the same street as a playground, and I really don't want to see another child and another dog become another statistic.
